We generally do not tune pianos older than around 60 years old, especially over dampers! Please feel free to ask us advice about your particular piano.
What is an overdamper? An overdamper is a 90+ year old upright piano where the dampers are above the point where the hammers hit the strings. You can look inside the top of your piano and if you can see the hammers you probably have an under damper, however if you can see a plank of wood with small dampers touching the strings you have an overdamper. Most overdampers also have or have had candle stick holders at some stage on the front panel above the keys.
We also do not tune or repair pianolas.
